Gift Giving -- It's the thought that counts

So, we are super late in sending a wedding gift to my husband's cousins (1 was married in August and 1 was married in October -- horrible, I know). So, I came up with a wedding gift idea while browsing TJ Maxx. I found these adorable pink Easter dessert plates make in Portugal. I purchased 4 of them and plan on pairing them with a Lilly Pulitzer Holiday's book that I got at Tuesday Morning a while ago. I know it's a CHEAP gift. But, we never, ever see them (honestly, the last time was 13 years ago at my wedding when one was 12 and the other was 16). My husband isn't exactly thrilled with the gift. I think it's a cute idea, and anyway, isn't it "the thought that counts?" I also picked up some Waterford high ball glasses (hubby was much more comfortable with that gift). One cousin will get the glasses the other the book/plates. Hopefully, they won't compare notes.

BTW -- Hubby has not volunteered to go and pick out wedding gifts himself (honestly, thought, whose husband would do this). And, he was not keen on my original idea: Tiffany platters.
